ABAI announces next Director of Operations.

The American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI) is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Chelsey Williams as the next Director of Operations.
She began her tenure at the ABAI on December 2. Ms. Williams joins ABAI in anticipation of the retirement of Mr. Larry Vapniarek, Chief Operating Officer after his more than 14 years of dedicated service.
Ms. Williams had a distinguished career of over 13 years as a leader with Communities in Schools of Philadelphia, Inc. where she held various positions including Corporate Services Manager, Associate Director of Operations, Board of Director’s Liaison, and Chief of Staff. She has expertise in the development and implementation of organizations plans as well as successfully mentoring teams by driving successful business strategies and initiatives. These experiences will enable her to make significant contributions to the ABAI.
During her tenure at Communities in Schools, Chelsey served on various committees and worked on projects including Facilities, Capital Improvements, United Way Coordinator- (Volunteer Income Assistance (VITA) & Annual Employee Giving Campaign), Stakeholder Relations, Fundraising, Government Relations, and Communities in Schools National Total Quality Standards (TQS) Accreditation Committee.
Chelsey is known for assisting and developing employees in all aspects of organizational operations. Her ability to quickly assess situations has enabled her to make far-reaching decisions for the company, contributing to net growth and fostering a welcoming environment for employees.
During her spare time, Chelsey loves to cook, sing, travel, and plan events. Mrs. Williams lives in New Jersey with her husband Jamie, where they live with their two sons, Jacob and Jamir.
